Documentary Photography Residency<\/i><\/b><\/h2>\n

The call for <\/span>Documentary Photography Residency<\/span><\/i> is open to all 2017 Photo Marathon participants that took part in Ljubljana and Beirut and qualified for review by the international jury by submitting 12 photographs depicting all 12 themes. We invite all those who meet these conditions to apply. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For the 2017 edition, <\/span>FRAME<\/span><\/a> (Beirut) and <\/span>APIS Institute \/ Zavod APIS<\/span><\/a> (Ljubljana) are teaming up to bring you the Photo Marathon Residency. In partnership with Digitalna kamera and Erasmus+, the residency provides an opportunity for two participants, one from Beirut and one from Ljubljana, to exchange places for two to three weeks. The goal of the residency is for the participants to become an advocate for intercultural understanding and positive social engagement, as well as to produce a unique documentary project during their stay. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In this way, we want to foster the socially engaged use of photography through mobility. The residency will also strengthen the connection and partnership across the Mediterranean between the Lebanese and Slovenian photographic community, and create an opportunity for the selected individuals to create and disseminate a documentary photography series in a new and foreign environment. The residency is also designed as an opportunity for knowledge transfer between the two partner organizations. It also acts as an educational experience for the awarded resident, including professional support and learning opportunities over the duration of the residency. <\/span><\/p>\n

The chosen resident, with the support of the host organizations, will produce a documentary photography series on a topic of their choosing. The series will be exhibited in both Beirut and Ljubljana. <\/span><\/p>\n

Support during the residency<\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

FRAME and APIS Institute, as host organizations, will cover visa costs, travel (up to EUR 500) and accommodation costs of the participating resident. The resident will be expected to pay for travel costs \u00a0and submit receipts to the host organizations in order to receive reimbursements at the completion of the residency. <\/span><\/p>\n
