On the International Migrants Day, observed on 18 December, we prepared an intercultural program to present the work of migrants who have moved to Slovenia from Mexico, Senegal, the Comoros Islands, Mali, Ukraine, Argentina and Bosnia and Herzegovina.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Globalna lutka<\/strong><\/span><\/span> acquainted the children with the Japanese kami\u0161ibaj theater. The young visitors were able to listen to stories from the African islands of the Comoros, Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina. They also learned how to make a pi\u00f1ata and how the holiday season is celebrated in Mexico and they made beautiful greeting cards.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Later on the migrants spoke about the challenges they are facing: the search for work, relations and integration into Slovenian society, the difficulties of learning the Slovenian language…<\/em> <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

We also saw a presentation of the online project <\/span><\/span><\/span>The challenge of migration<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>, co-created by migrants themselves to share their views and experiences in Slovenia. The evening was rounded off with a concert of improvised or progressive folk music by the <\/span><\/span>Positive Illusion- AAI<\/strong><\/span><\/span>. AAI is a network of creative people of varying ages, stemming from different countries and artistic fields.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The event was organized by APIS Institute in cooperation with the <\/span><\/span>Slovenian Philanthropy<\/strong><\/span><\/span>, I<\/span><\/span>nstitute Kultur\u00e9o<\/strong><\/span><\/span> and <\/span><\/span>KUD Gallery C.C.U.<\/strong><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
